Another year, another wonderful trip. This year our BU10 Academy team were faced with a tremendous task of trying to measure up to the previous years successes.
The match began with Barca's Academy putting on a display of "Total Futbol" that saw them score within the first 5 minutes of the game. Typically faced with this type of pressure, a team would be overwhelmed by the magnitude of the event, however, once our boys settles down they eventually tied the game just before half.
The second half started exactly like the first as Barca's Academy took the kickoff and put on a one touch passing clinic that eventually ended with a goal. Our boys fought back and didn't allow another goal and with 5 minutes left in the game, we scored to tie it up. We had several chances to score in the last few minutes but in the end we couldn't finish them off. We left with a tie which was more than anybody could ask for.
In attendance were Academy Staff Directors, staff coaches and scouts that all gave their approval of the type of soccer displayed as well as their commitment to our program for future competitions.
