FC Barcelona has made their mark on Hollywood Boulevard. The Blaugrana squad all enjoyed a day out with Kobe Bryant outside the Kodak Theatre in front of more than 5,000 supporters eager to see their heroes. It was like a scene from the Oscars as the red carpet was rolled out onto the famous street where stars of the silver screen have their names engraved in the pavement. The Barça players were received like film stars and revelled in the occasion. Red carpet reception at the Hollywood & Highland Complex, located at the heart of motion picture industry, saw the Barcelona players receive a warm reception from their American-based fans. All the players made their entrance along the red carpet, with the crowd along both sides, as the anthem of the club was played and people stood with banners emblazoned with the Barça motto 'More than a club'. At the end of the carpet awaited one of America's most iconic figures, Los Angeles Lakers' basketball star, Kobe Bryant. Additionally, at this Nike sponsored event, our own Club players were also greeted as movie stars as they walked down the red carpet that led them to a VIP section where they would watch their heroes. As Miss Universe made her entrance the fans knew that the players were soon to come. Kobe Bryant soon followed and the Los Angeles spectators roared. The Barça anthem began and the crowd went wild, our players were astonished as they saw the technical directors and their favorite players make their entrance; Deco, Dos Santos, Eto’o, Puyol, Marquez , Ronaldinho and many others so close they could be touched. The Barca players were then introduced one by one and given the opportunity to speak to the crowd. Ronaldinho, Puyol, Marquez and Dos Santos were later ushered to the center court to play 4v4 against four of our lucky FC California players. For many of us that attended this was an experience of a lifetime, our club was given the opportunity to shine with the best in the world! We thank Nike for the great experience.
