After many tireless days planning and coordinating this event, we were finally able to bring three staff members from Barca's Academy to be with us for one week.  Carlos Bueno, Jordi Puig and Zizinho Dos Santos were sent by FCBarcelona to work and observe all of our kids and coaches.

 

Throughout the week, they interacted with our players and coaches demonstrating and teaching the Barca way of development.  Carlos remarked on how much talent our Club boasted and was shocked at how talented the girls are.  In Spain, womens soccer is not close to the level it is here in the US so for him and the others it was an eye opener.  There was plenty of time for social gatherings as we were able to host them at a staff dinner function where Carlos presented to us, "The Barcelona Way," in a video presentation. 

 

The trip culminated with them scouting players during our Barca Nike Cup tournament over the weekend.  They identified 8 Barca players and have requested personal bio's on each one.

 

This is the beginning of building our relationship with them so that we can attend future coaching seminars / clinics in Barcelona to begin the process of understanding how to teach the Barca system of play to our kids.
